Victim empowerment is necessary in every community and this workshop assists counsellors and educators to understand the core areas of supporting people in distress and victims, within the paradigms of working with children and other members of the community. This awareness will allow them to identify crisis situations; traumatic experiences and the aftermath of trauma. After the session the educator will have an expanded understanding of how and when to referred people to the best available professional to assist the person in need.
By offering appropriate victim support counsellors and educators will be able to concentrate on their professional tasks, while making a substantive difference which will allow job satisfaction and improved self-care.
